December Travel Roundup: Where My Clients Are Headed for the Holiday Season

I shared a quick carousel on Instagram of some of the trips clients are heading on this month and thought it would be fun to share a bit more here! December always brings a great mix: some clients are chasing the sun with family, others are really embracing that holiday hygge, and a few are finally taking big bucket list trips to seize the extra-long holiday break from school this year.

A fair few families are heading off on warm-weather vacations in the Caribbean and Mexico this month, all looking for those “Christmas in the Caribbean” Jimmy Buffett vibes. One is off to Antigua for a relaxed island week at a classic beachfront resort. A couple of different families are Riviera Maya–bound, one choosing Xcaret, another Paradisus Playa del Carmen, another still at RIU Palace, each resort a perfect match for their own version of easy, all-inclusive comfort. Another family decided on Wymara in Turks and Caicos, a smaller, amazing, design-forward property with absolutely incredible food (always a focus for me!). It’s always interesting to be a part ot how different “sunny and easy” can look depending on the particular travelers.

Another pair is off on a two-week trip to Japan, starting in Tokyo and ending in Kyoto, with skiing in Shiga Kogen in between. We spent a lot of time shaping this one, balancing the logistics, resort options, and timing so it will all flow smoothly. They’ll get incredible snow, plenty of variety, and a good mix of city and mountain time.

One of my favorite trips this month is a mother-daughter Christmas market getaway in London. We looked at a few hotels but ended up booking a flat in Covent Garden so they could settle in and feel at home for the week. The plan includes tea, window shopping, and a handful of truly fabulous restaurant reservations.

Another client wanted to take advantage of a work trip to Germany, and is spending time in Baden-Baden, Germany, with a mix of spa time at Maison Messmer and a stay at the newly-opened and much-lauded Rosewood Munich thereafter. Can’t wait for the full report of that one!

A couple celebrating a health victory chose a Seychelles beach getaway for their big trip. We talked through several incredible destinations and then properties before deciding on the Kempinski, where they’ll have that classic turquoise-water escape with a brand they know and love.

Two of my repeat travelers are on a Mekong River cruise this month aboard the Viking Saigon, sailing from Vietnam into Cambodia. This is a big departure from their typical European travel, and I am so excited for them to experience Southeast Asia while drifting the Mekong!

Still another client is staying closer to home for an anniversary weekend at the Woodstock Inn in Vermont. A fireplace in the room, VIP perks through my booking, snow, good wine, and no flights required make this the perfect quick and cozy winter getaway.

And one more on the list this month is mine! New Zealand! This trip has been a dream for a loooong time, and I’ve had so much fun planning it! I will certainly be posting the whole itinerary once we’ve returned and have some fab pics and intel to share.

I love how different these trips look side by side, and how much fun they all were to plan and dream up together! As always, I’d love to help dream up your next trip together!
